Privacy policy

Ganshisha (“we”) handles the personal information of our customers as follows.

1. What we mean by personal information

In this policy, “personal information” means information about a living individual that can identify them — a name, address, telephone number or email address, for example — as defined by Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

2. Why we use it

We use personal information provided to us through enquiries, orders, publishing proposals and press requests for the following purposes only:

  • to answer enquiries and stay in contact about them;
  • to process, send and invoice orders for books;
  • to consider publishing proposals and reply to them;
  • to tell you about our publications and activities, where you have agreed to this.

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it. Where we entrust work to a carrier, printer or similar supplier, we limit the information to what the task needs and supervise the supplier appropriately.

4. Keeping it safe

We hold only the personal information we actually need, and take appropriate measures to prevent its loss, leakage or damage.

5. Access, correction and deletion

On request from the individual concerned, we will disclose, correct, add to, delete or stop using the personal information we hold. Please contact us at the address below; we will confirm your identity and act in accordance with the law.
